As some of you know I have been sidelined this summer by a motorcycle mishap and am recovering from seven broken ribs and collarbone, and its my right arm in a sling so painting has been challenging. Luckily I had a productive winter and will have ten paintings in the “Summer Moments” art show at Matzke Gallery on Camano Island https://www.matzkefineart.com/
I have posted about this Puget Sound gem in previous blogposts but it really is a wonderful destination to spend a summer afternoon. The Sculpture Park is artfully installed among beautiful mature cedar trees where one can wander through the forest contemplating art and nature while reclining on one of the many sitting benches throughout the park. The Gallery where the paintings and indoor sculptures reside, is spacious and laid out to entice art lovers to fully explore the indoor nooks and crannies for that special image or object. Opening reception for this exhibit is this saturday July 12 from 4:30 to 7:30.
I think my injuries are healing ok, the collarbone is still clunky and misshapen but at 4 weeks from the accident I am hopeful to be back at the easel soon. The good news is the bike came through ok, some minor repairs required which I can do myself once my right arm is functional. I have been managing to paint in my little sketch book, small movements are manageable. The following 3″ x 5″ images are from these efforts.
Lets all keep heart during these tumultuous days, courage and patience are the virtues required to see us through.
