Wide Wide World

Wide World

This painting is from a backpack camping trip with my children last August to Shi-Shi beach on the peninsula, one of the most incredible places I’ve been. As usual when I include loved ones in my landscapes, the painting evolves into an unintended metaphor. The solitary soul walking in the sunlight on this big wild beach while the incoming tide touches her toes is my daughter at 17, getting ready to go forth and make and her own impressions on this wide wide world.

This is a big painting for me, 20″ x 40″ on 300lb Arches cold press paper.

PatternArt studio is now offering high quality archival Giclee reproductions of this painting, sign and numbered by the artist for $95.
